For the third year in a row, Changing Tides Foundation will be hosting our global #PlasticSwearJar Challenge starting this Earth Day, April 22, which requires participants to keep track of the single-use plastic waste they produce over the course of one week. Each plastic item constitutes a “SWEAR” which equals $1 for the Plastic Swear Jar.

Over the last two years, the challenge has grown immensely, garnering participation from influencers and athletes such as:
  • Elena Hight, 2 x Olympic Snowboarder
  • Stephanie Gilmore, 7 x World Surfing Champion
  • Tatiana Weston-Webb, professional surfer
  • Robin Van Gyn, professional snowboarder
  • Liz Clark, adventurer and activist
and so many more amazing people globally. Last year, the challenge saw hundreds of participants from the US, Canada, UK, all throughout Europe and Central/South America, Australia, New Zealand, Kenya, Ghana, South Africa, Saudi Arabia, Dominican Republic and more. The challenge also has been featured in media outlets and blogs worldwide.

This year, for the first time ever, Changing Tides Foundation has implemented a registration system for participants to pledge their commitment to the challenge and enter them into the grand prize raffle pack, which will include at GoPro Hero 7, a Patagonia spring suit and prizes from some awesome brands like Leus TowelsKindhumans, Lotus Trolley Bag, Simply Straws and more! In addition, we will be doing daily giveaways on Instagram each day of the challenge for eco-friendly items that serve as plastic pollution solutions. Make sure you let us know when you start your challenge by posting  about your challenge and tag #PlasticSwearJar and  @ChangingTidesFoundation on social media!

The Plastic Swear Jar Challenge is a fun family, in-office and community game, giving people an opportunity to create healthy competition with others and see how they progress on reducing their use of single-use plastics. Awareness is the catalyst to change and together we have the power to create change because together we are better.

LETS DO IT FOR MAMA OCEAN!
