Our Programs

We initiate projects that enable compassion and teamwork to create life-enhancing and earth-protecting opportunities.

WOMP

Our Flagship Program, the Women’s Outreach Mentorship Program, works with teen girls to introduce them to the ocean and teach them fundamental lessons of womanhood.

Our 2025 Program has teamed up with the Monarch School of San Diego and the Groundswell Community Project to welcome unhoused teen girls into the ocean.

Support. Guidance. Community.

How it works:

Each teen participant is paired with a surf mentor, who will give them one-on-one help as they are introduced to surfing. This mentor also becomes a friend and support system for the participant over the 6 week program.

Each Wednesday afternoon, there’s a land lesson and an ocean lesson. The land lessons vary from critical topics like: menstrual awareness, body positivity, art therapy, and more. The ocean lessons build the participants’ confidence in the ocean, reading waves, and learning to navigate a surfboard.

WOMP HISTORY

The first ever WOMP program was a 7-week program in Bocas Del Toro, Panama in collaboration with Give & Surf.

Since, WOMP has worked with the Mariposa Foundation in Dominican Republic, the Beyond the Surface Foundation in Peru, and small coastal communities in El Salvador.

In 2022-2024, CTF ran three 7-week WOMP sessions each year working with teenage girls from the North County San Diego area.

In 2025, we’re thrilled to be teaming up with the Monarch School in San Diego as well as the Groundswell Community Project to enhance our surf therapy and community offerings.
